13-year-old cellist Noah Chen of Chicago recently performed on Introductions, WFMT's weekly Saturday morning program that showcases talented pre-college musicians in the Chicago area. Noah is the principal cellist of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, and he also won the orchestra’s concerto competition in 2016. Most recently, he was a winner at the DePaul Concerto Festival for Young Performers, and he has performed at the Aspen Music Festival. Noah studies cello with Hans Jørgen Jensen.

Noah shared music of Luigi Boccherini and Robert Schumann in his program, and in this performance with pianist Kay Kim, he performs a brilliant showpiece, Concert Polonaise by Czech composer David Popper.
