Bill, A catchy title for a series. Is it accurate? I think not. As I listen to program on Bach's off-church compositions, I can't stop thinking that Bach would be in church bright-und-early (sic) every Sunday and every holiday, just like everybody else, so he would not fall under suspicion of heresy. Times of Reformation and counter-reformation had no respect for human life, and civil wars were breaking out because individual fiefdoms did not tolerate two religions within.
