The problem is "What exactly is a nontraditional instrument"?
A Hoover (vacuum cleaner) or a hosepipe, two devices used in that famous Hoffnung Music Festival recording, are NOT musical instruments at all. Neither is a wood saw or a drinking glass, although compositions for "glass harmonica" do exist.
But ethnic instruments (Eastern flutes, bagpipes, African or Latin American drums, etc.) are musical and could be considered for audio display.
Other considerations: Are there enough compositions for ethnic instruments to support a weeklong series on radio? Are listeners interested enough in ethnic music to stick to a weeklong series?
I feel that a series featuring computer-generated electronic music would be more rewarding to the listener. True, computers are not musical instruments but simulate them well. The series could be built on a History of Computer-Generated Music, from the early days until today.

Wonder about doing a week of, loosely, 'music for-or played on- non-traditional instruments'. The ?classic 'Symphony for Three Hoovers' comes of course to mind, as does some music I've heard on Jews' harps, a piece I either heard or imagined called 'MRI' which was essentially a recoding of the sounds during a 40-minute MRI session,saws, glass jars (or drinking glasses), and the like. Could include also some purely electronic music, althogh that isn't quite what I had in mind.
