I envy you Joanna! Helmut Rilling is probably the foremost expert on the Matthew Passion. I studied it under Tamara Brooks (sadly deceased at aged 71, wife of Theodore Bikel aged 88O) when I was a student at Haverford College in the late 70s. She was heavily influenced by Klemperer's monumental reading. So how did your performance turn out?

Thank you for the wonderful Easter Week series! I loved listening every morning. We'll be studying the St. Matthew this summer with Helmuth Rilling. Your program was a lovely and dramatic preview.
