I'll cast another vote for featuring Handel oratorios other than "Messiah." Talk about "full of drama," it would be hard to beat the plague sequence in "Israel in Egypt," especially the transition from the 9th plague ("He sent a thick darkness..."), decrescendo to nothing, followed by the 10th, attaca, fortissimo, with tympani ("He SMOTE all the FIRST-born of Egypt..."). Absolutely terrifying every time.

Hello again, Bill! As always, I have enjoyed your program immensely. It coincides with my long commute home, and thus gets me through the tedious drive with great music and your excellent commentary. Thanks!
I'm still hoping that you will do a series on music of the British Commonwealth, particularly Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
And I would like to put forth another idea for a week: Handel's oratorios in Italian and English, with less focus on "Messiah" than on other works. Please? They are wonderful works full of drama. Thanks for considering these... Have a good weekend.
