Thanks for the memories, Renato. I don't remember the 1959 "Once Upon a Mattress", but I do have fond memories of a TV version with Carol Burnett as the Princess. Hysterical.

Listening to your Friday program on American composers, I was astounded to hear a
phrase from Antheil's 1925 "Jazz Symphony" – a quirky, bouncy little tune that runs
through the first movement.
That phrase was copied, note for note, by Hugh Martin and Timothy Gray in their 1964
musical "High Spirits." It was sung by Beatrice Lillie as "Something Is Coming to
Tea."
The first few notes of that theme were also echoed in a tune in the 1959 musical
"Once Upon a Mattress," by Mary Rodgers. The tune (an ensemble dance) was "The
Spanish Panic."
