      The Civic Orchestra of Chicago

      Wednesdays at 9:00 pm

The Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the only training orchestra affiliated with a major American symphony, has been presenting free concerts to Chicago audiences since its founding in 1919 by then Chicago Symphony Music Director Frederick Stock. A signature part of the CSO's Negaunee Music Institute, the Civic recruits a diverse group of the very best pre-professional musicians and trains them at the highest level as orchestra players committed to their craft and to the community. The radio series, hosted by Dennis Moore, showcases a wide array of soloists and conductors working with the young musicians, imparting their knowledge and experience.

Broadcasts from the Civic Orchestra will return later this year.
