New York Festival of Song

New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) is a non-profit, concert-giving organization based in Manhattan that has been delighting audiences and dazzling critics for over two decades.  Newsday has rightly called NYFOS “the most reliably excellent musical organization in New York.”

NYFOS performances feature some of the world’s finest vocal talents, such as series host Frederica von Stade, in high-energy ensemble productions with repertoire ranging from art song and opera to Broadway and the blues. NYFOS also nurtures the artistry and careers of young singers in residencies with The Juilliard School, Caramoor Center for the Arts, San Francisco Opera, and Glimmerglass Opera.

“No Song is Safe from Us” will invite the radio listener into the uniquely intimate and dramatic world of the NYFOS concert experience, with sparkling and informative commentary from Artistic Director Steven Blier and Associate Artistic Director Michael Barrett.  The series will also feature rare, never before broadcast performances from the legendary Lorraine Hunt-Lieberson.

NYFOS’s dramatically-charged thematic programming and its commissions and premieres of new American works reach a wider public through national and international tours, recordings and broadcasts; NYFOS’s New York concert series remains a destination for lovers of vocal music from across the globe.

New York Festival of Song presents “No Song is Safe from Us” is available free of charge.   For more information, please contact Carol Martinez at (773) 279-2112, e-mail: cmartinez@wfmt.com.
