Salute to Vienna Contest
The Salute to Vienna Contest is now closed.
Welcome to the New Year with Salute to Vienna, patterned after Vienna's world famous "Neujahrskonzert," returning for a glorious 14th season with a fresh, new program. This festive New Year's concert features a brilliant cast, including The Strauss Symphony of America™ featuring the Chicago Philharmonic; stellar European singers (including soprano Monica Rebholz and tenor Pawel Skaluba), and dancers from the Vienna Imperial Ballet. You’ll enjoy a light-hearted blend of popular Strauss waltzes, polkas, and famous operetta excerpts from Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, and more, under the direction of Viennese conductor Klaus Arp.
The concert will take place Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in Symphony Center's Orchestra Hall, 220 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago. For ticket pricing and other information, visit Salute to Vienna.
