New artists, new compositions and a focus on the piano are hallmarks of The Fazioli Salon Series

Chicago, IL - 98.7WFMT, Chicago's Classical Experience, will launch The Fazioli Salon Series, a new live performance series, this Friday, February 3 at 12:15 p.m.  The 39-week series centering on the piano, both as a solo instrument and in a chamber music setting will be hosted by WFMT Program Director Peter Whorf.

"The whole concept of The Fazioli Salon Series - presenting a weekly showcase for upcoming artists and new works - is so much a part of a vision shared by WFMT and the PianoForte Foundation, the series seemed a natural, exciting addition to our schedule," said Whorf.  "As the station's program director and host of the series, I'm looking forward to exploring the conversational aspects and experiencing the performances we'll present each week, along with our audience."

The Fazioli Salon Series' first guest artist will be Rachel Kudo, the only American pianist to reach the finals of the 2005 Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw.  She'll discuss her impressions of the competition with Peter Whorf and perform works by Chopin for the both the radio and in-studio audience at PianoForte.  The series continues with the following artists:

February 17 - Jeffrey Siegel
