The Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts resume this Saturday, September 27, starting at 5:45 p.m. with MANON by Jules Massenet, starring Natalie Dessay and Jonas Kaufmann!

All nine* operas of the Lyric Opera of Chicago 2008-09 season can be heard live locally on 98.7WFMT and nationally/internationally through www.wfmt.com.

2008-09 Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts began Sept. 6 with live broadcast of "Stars of Lyric Opera at Millennium Park" free concert

Lyric's 2008-09 season operas to be rebroadcast locally, nationally & internationally in May-June 2009 by The WFMT Radio Network

Starting with the season-opener, Jules Massenet's Manon, on Saturday, September 27, beginning at 5:45 p.m., all nine operas of Lyric Opera of Chicago's 54th season will be carried live locally on radio 98.7WFMT via The Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera Broadcasts, and nationally/ internationally through WFMT's enhanced live streaming service at www.wfmt.com.

Additionally, Lyric's Subscriber Appreciation Concert by the Lyric Opera Chorus, Holly and Ivy, will be broadcast live on Sunday, December 14, beginning at 2:45 p.m. Donald Nally, Lyric's chorus master, conducts, with Lyric's music director, Sir Andrew Davis, organist and Craig Terry, pianist, as accompanists. Sir Andrew will also perform solo organ works.

Seven of the nine* operas in Lyric's 2008-09 season are being broadcast live on their opening nights. The double-bill production of Cavalleria rusticana & Pagliacci will be broadcast on its sixth performance date. Norman Pellegrini and Lisa Flynn host the broadcasts, which start with live commentary and taped interviews at the times shown below.

Lyric's full 2008-09 season will be rebroadcast on eight consecutive Saturdays in May and June of 2009.
