Yale Schola Cantorum is a chamber choir that performs sacred music from the 16th century to the present day. It is sponsored by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and is led by the English conductor David Hill. They have made a new recording of Fauré’s Requiem that is close in spirit to the composer’s intimate, liturgical original. The arrangement by Hill adds two string instruments and a harp to the organ and choral palette. The program also features a selection of Fauré’s other sacred works including the Messe basse.
