Volkmar Zimmermann and Kristian Gantriis are both members of the internationally acclaimed Corona Guitar Quartet and now they have joined forces as an independent ensemble, the Gantriis-Zimmermann Guitar Duo and ‘Pinpoints’ is the result of their collaboration. The two musicians have assembled an enticingly eclectic collection of brief pieces from around the world — Argentine tangos, Danish songs, Spanish dances, and two works of new music. As the music takes the listener on an irresistible and magical journey, its rich, complex, active patterns create the sense that we must be listening to more than just two guitars.
