Internationally renowned flutist Lisa Friend joins with acclaimed pianist Rohan De Silva to explore an exquisite variety of French works on “Essence.” From a young age, Friend was exposed to a plethora of music, including the vast world of the string repertoire. Her father, violinist Rodney Friend (former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic) introduced her to the Fauré Violin Sonata. This work is included on the album along with works by Claude Debussy.
