The French label Naïve releases the 62nd album in its monumental Vivaldi Edition, offering “consistently fascinating pieces” in its “invaluable series devoted to newly rediscovered works of Vivaldi” (All Music) housed at the National Library in Turin. The seventh volume devoted to Vivaldi’s violin concertos features violinist Alessandro Tampieri and Ottavio Dantone’s Accademia Bizantina in the six surviving concertos of the fifteen that Vivaldi wrote during his fateful last year in Viennese exile. The composer sold them for a pitifully small sum to Count Collalto, a Venetian nobleman.
