Cellist Patrycja Likos and pianist Yana Reznik perform a program of live music for this Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert.

Patrycja Likos performs each season as a soloist and with ensembles in the United States and abroad.  She has performed in master classes led by outstanding cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Giovanni Gnocchi, Jonathan Pegis, Anadrzej Bauer, Michael Flaksman, Jeroen Reuling, and Paul Uyterlinde.  As a chamber musician, she participated in chamber music master classes in the United States, France, Poland, and Italy with artists such as Itamar Golan, Ivry Gitlis, the Guarneri Quartet, and Pacifica Quartet. From 2012 to 2014, Patrycja was a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and had opportunities to perform with extraordinary conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Jaap van Zweden. She is currently an assistant principal cellist of the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra, as well as a member of Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago, Heartland Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Arts Orchestra, and Chicago Folk Operetta.

Patrycja began her cello studies at the age of eight at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski School of Music in Krosno, Poland. She earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees under Andrzej Orkisz from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Patrycja then went on to receive an Artist Diploma in cello performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the studio of Brandon Vamos.

Patrycja has won numerous prizes in cello competitions in the United States and abroad. In 2011, Patrycja won first prize in the Krannert Center Debut Artist Competition at Urbana-Champaign. She earned the third prize at the International Cello Competition in Kosice, Slovak Republic, and first prize at the Chamber Music Competition in Stalowa Wola, Poland.  She participated in International Cello Competition in Liezen, Austria, and the K. Wilkomirski’s Youth Cello Competition in Poznan, Poland.

Patrycja is an educator with over a decade of experience. She currently serves as a cello instructor at the Lycée Français de Chicago, Northeastern University, and Solo Classic School in Buffalo Grove. Pianist, speaker, producer, host, entrepreneur, and cultural leader, Yana Reznik’s passionate performances and compelling storytelling have captivated the hearts of thousands of concert goers on her many tours across the United States, Europe, and Russia. Since relocating to Chicago in 2014 from Los Angeles, Yana has performed with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and Northwest Indiana Sympohony, including venues such as the Chicago Symphony All Access Chamber Series, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, and PianoForte Foundation. 98.7 WFMT has produced Yana’s new album exclusively for their pledge drive. In February 2015, Yana launched “Playful Talk”, a production that invites audiences to engage with renowned stars of classical music. Yana has collaborated with the members of Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera Orchestra, Ars Viva Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Ensemble Dal Niente, Kontras Quartet, and New Millennium Orchestra.
