WFMT is partnering with the Symphony Center Presents Orchestra Series for this special appearance by the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal. The organization’s music director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, hailed as “the greatest generator of energy on the international podium” (The Financial Times), and “Brucknerian to be reckoned with” (MusicWeb International), brings his Montreal ensemble to Symphony Center for a performance of Bruckner’s stirring Symphony No. 4 (Romantic). Also, acclaimed mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato will perform two of Mozart’s most famous arias: ”Ch’io mi scordi di te? … Non temer, amato bene” and “Parto Parto” from La clemenza di Tito.
For 20 years, the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal has grown alongside its lifetime artistic director and principal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, whose career continues to reach new heights. His exceptional collaborative relationship with the Orchestre has given rise to many ambitious musical projects, some of them quite daring, under his leadership. This Symphony Center appearance is one of several across the United States, presented in response to a successful European tour.
