On Saturday’s live broadcast, we feature pianist Eriko Darcy. Eriko attends the Catherine Cook School in Chicago. Eriko’s awards include: Winner of the Chicago Area Steinway Young Artist Competition, 1st place at the Roberta Savler Piano Competition, 1st place at the North Shore Music Teachers Association Piano Contest, and 1st place at the Chinese Fine Arts Musical Festival in Honor of Confucius. She won a Gold Medal at the 2010 Seattle International Piano Competition Youth Division and was a Finalist at the 2015 Seattle International Piano Competition Youth Division age 10-13, receiving the Music Teachers’ Favorite Award. Eriko has performed twice at Carnegie Hall’s Weil-Recital Hall as a First Prize winner of the 2011 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition and as a winner of the 2010 American Fine Arts Festival. Eriko regularly performs at churches, retirement homes and hospitals. Her fundraising recitals supported the victims of the domestic violence, the uptown community in Chicago area, and the restoration of historic churches. In 2014, Eriko performed on WFMT’s Introductions – Remembers Mimi Liu. As the winner of the 2015 DePaul University Concerto Competition Open Division, Eriko performed with the Oistrakh Symphony Orchestra. Eriko studies piano with Brenda Huang.
