Celebrating their 20th season, the Orion Ensemble join us again in the Levin Performance Studio to share their artistry in a program entitled “Collage of Colors.” Described by Chicago Tribune music critic John von Rhein as “…one of Chicago’s most vibrant, versatile and artistic ensembles” and “…amoung the reasons why Chicago is undergoing a veritable chamber music renaissance,” the ensemble is comprised of 5 very talented musicians: Florentina Ramniceanu, violin; Kathy Pirtle, clarinet; Diana Schmück, piano; Judy Stone, cello; and Jennifer Marlas, viola. As an ensemble, they are committed to the development of young artists through their program OPUS and are dedicated to presenting diverse programming, which includes standard repertoire as well as innovative new works.

On this program, they present works by Zemlinsky, Mozart, and a piece written for them by James Wintle. Guest violist Stephen Boe joins the Orions live in the Levin Performance Studio.  The program host and producer is Kerry Frumkin , the associate producer is Andi Lamoreaux and the music producer is Mary Mazurek.
