Rush Hour Concerts at St. James Cathedral in Chicago were founded by Deborah Sobol in 2000. The series aims to reinvent the traditional classical music concert format by presenting short, high-quality chamber music performances in an intimate and informal setting. Each free 30-minute concert is performed by world-class musicians from Chicago ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago and numerous independent chamber music groups. On August 15, 2017, the Civitas Ensemble played the final movement of Brahms’s String Quintet No. 1 in F major, Op. 88.
