Once celebrated as one of the finest piano-performers of the 1820s, Ferdinand Ries is now remembered chiefly for his association with Beethoven. Volume 75 of Hyperion’s Romantic Piano Concerto series highlights Ries’s own Piano Concertos Nos. 8 and 9 and Introduction and Polonaise.
