Bill visited the 6th annual Tucson Desert Song Festival for their celebration of “Leonard Bernstein at 100.” George Hanson, artistic director of the festival, welcomed Exploring Music to a week of lectures, workshops, master classes, and sunshine, along with beautiful performances of Candide, Trouble in Tahiti, Mass, and the Kaddish Symphony, featuring a new narration written and performed by the maestro’s daughter, Jamie Bernstein. Celebrate the centennial of an American icon with a week of music from the Tucson Desert Song Festival, in partnership with the Arizona Early Music Society, Arizona Opera, Arizona Friends of Chamber Music, Ballet Tucson, New York Festival of Song, True Concord Voices & Orchestra, Tucson Symphony, and the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music.
