Lyric Opera of Chicago's 2018-19 season opens this weekend with a classic: Puccini's beloved La bohème. In an opera of timeless arias, "Quando m'en vo," also known as "Musetta's Waltz" might just be the standout — a showy, assertive piece of music that the character Musetta launches into to try to draw the attention and envy of her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Marcello.

In a WFMT livestream, soprano Danielle de Niese, who plays Musetta in Lyric's production, gave listeners a piquant rendition of the classic aria before sharing a preview of the opera.
