This Los Angeles Opera program features operas from two Italian contemporaries: Gianni Schicchi by Puccini and Pagliacci by Leoncavallo. Plácido Domingo plays the wily the title character in Schicchi, then he steps into the orchestra pit to conduct Pagliacci, featuring Marco Berti (Canio) and Ana Maria Martinez (Nedda).
