From the heaven-storming timpani of the opening chorus, the Christmas story unfolds in dramatic narrative, moving arias, and inspiring chorales—performed with the power and passion that Chicago’s Music of the Baroque always brings to Bach’s great choral works. In November 2018, Jane Glover conducted the MOB Chorus and Orchestra with soprano Yulia Van Doren, mezzo-soprano Elizabeth DeShong, tenor Thomas Cooley, and baritone Tyler Duncan.
