Introductions alumni and cellist Daniel Kaler joins us once again for a live performance in WFMT’s Levin Performance Studio.

Daniel first played on Introductions in 2014. Since graduating from New Trier High School, Kaler has studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Mark Kosower, principal cellist of The Cleveland Orchestra. Daniel’s accolades include winning the 2017 SAI Concerto Competition at the Chautauqua Festival and the Cleveland Institute of Music Concerto Competition. He was recently awarded the 2018 Payne Fund Prize.

Daniel is featured in the PBS documentary Hear Us, with violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua, and Rada Hanana, a pianist and Syrian refugee. These three young musicians formed a trio which strives to, “bring hope and joy to refugee children and inspiration to the world.”
