Contrabandista marks the first release of the new ‘Mentored by Bartoli’ series, a partnership between Decca Classics and the Cecilia Bartoli Music Foundation. Tenor Javier Camarena delves deep into the life and music of legendary Spanish tenor Manuel García. This collection features works by García, including three world premiere recordings, alongside favorites by Rossini and Zingarelli. Camarena is joined by Cecilia Bartoli, his mentor for this album, in a stunning duet from Rossini’s Armida.
