London in the 1730s. Musical life was flourishing around the figure of George Frideric Handel. At the height of his fame, he surrounded himself with the finest London musicians and was joined by many foreign composers. Swiss recorder virtuoso Maurice Steger and La Cetra Baroque Orchestra recreate the sorts of musical interludes that occupied the long breaks between the acts of Handel’s operas and other stage works.
