Be a fly on the wall for a Third Coast Baroque rehearsal

Rehearsal might not be the first thing you think of when you turn on WFMT, attend a live performance, or turn on a favorite recording. But behind every great performance or recording is untold hours of practice. Don't get us wrong, we love the final product, but it's also fun and illuminating to go behind the scenes and see the process through which musicians prepare for their performances. WFMT and host Maggie Clennon Reberg crashed a Third Coast Baroque rehearsal at Wilmette's Trinity United Methodist Church ahead of the Chicago-based ensemble's upcoming concerts called The French Connection.

Watch the video below to be a fly on the wall during a rehearsal, and to hear more from Third Coast Baroque executive director Angela Young Smucker, artistic director Rubén Dubrovsky, and visual artist Meriem Bahri.

Third Coast Baroque presents The French Connection: An Exquisite Exploration, featuring music of French Baroque composers Couperin, Marais, Rameau, and more. Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17, 2019, various locations. Visit thirdcoastbaroque.org for more information.
