The Naïve label has released the latest installment in its Vivaldi Edition devoted to newly rediscovered works housed at the National Library in Turin, Italy. The 63rd volume features French violinist Julien Chauvin and his ensemble Le Concert de la Loge. This set of six violin concertos highlights the close links between Vivaldi’s instrumental and operatic works – two genres of equal virtuosity, on which Vivaldi lavished his genius in equal measure, and in every expressive register.
