With his innumerable collaborations in classical, jazz, world and folk music, and more, it can be said that David Amram never met a musical language or instrument he didn’t like. The ebullient composer, multi-instrumentalist, and cultural polymath was born on November 17, 1930. In honor of his nonagintennial, we bring you his 1986 conversation with Studs Terkel, while sending him our very best wishes for a happy 90th birthday.
