The Season Kicks Off with an Independence Day Salute
WFMT is excited to announce that its live series from the Grant Park Music Festival is returning in July. The programs, hosted by Dave Schwan, will air on Wednesdays and Friday as indicated below at 6:30 pm, giving listeners a front-row seat to a Chicago summertime institution.

Friday, July 2
The Grant Park Music Festival’s 2021 season premiere is also one of its hallmark programs: the perennial Independence Day Salute, which samples celebratory and quintessentially American music. This year, the concert will be conducted by Christopher Bell and Carlos Kalmar and will feature music by Tchaikovsky, Price, Walker, and Sousa.
