This week on Introductions, string quartets from Midwest Young Artists Conservatory in Highwood and New Music School in Chicago perform music by Haydn, Schubert, Dvořák, Shostakovich, Ginastera, and Holland.

Some of these young musicians have appeared on Introductions in the past: the same membership of the Ardente String Quartet appeared in August 2020, and their first violinist Ella Saputra recorded a solo recital in February 2021. John Lee and Samuel Du of Quartet Feroce have both been members of Trio Domino, appearing in July 2020 and June 2019 (Samuel only).

All three of today’s ensembles were included in Introductions Fischoff Competition live coverage episode in May 2021.
