Professor Thomas A. Dorsey (1899-1993) was hailed as the finest, most prolific and fertile of all gospel composers. Tonight and next week, WFMT’s Best of Studs Terkel presents a two-part conversation with Professor Dorsey from 1961. He’s on that program with John Steiner, who was a highly respected folklorist and collector of spirituals and gospel music.
