Today, Introductions returns to the Fay & Daniel Levin Performance Studio with violinist Tara Hagle. In this recital of Brahms, Bacewicz, Messiaen and Wieniawski, she’s joined by her father Matthew Hagle on piano.

Tara Hagle is a 18-year-old violinist from the Chicago area. She currently is a Merit scholarship fellow of the Music Institute of Chicago Academy where she studies with Almita Vamos and Davis King. She attended the 2018 Bendada International Music Festival in Portugal, where she performed in a number of chamber music and solo concerts across Portugal; the Bowdoin International Music Festival in 2019 and 2021, where worked with members of the Ying, Formosa, and Dover String Quartets; and Northwestern Summer Violin Institute, where she had two weeks of violin masterclasses with Paul Kantor, Violaine Melançon, I-Hao Lee, Blair Milton, and more. She has also been invited to participate in masterclasses with Vadim Gluzman, Rachel Barton Pine, Robert Chen, and Ani Kavafian.

Tara is passionate about chamber music and loves to play with others. As a member of the Omaggio String Quartet at the MIC Academy, she won second prize in the Chicago International Chamber Competition, the Bronze Medal and Audience Prize at the 2021 St. Paul String Quartet Competiton, the Silver Medal at St. Paul in 2022, and participated in the Fischoff National Chamber Competition in both 2021 and 2022. In her free time, she likes to read poetry, run, bake, and discover new music.
