Today we feature flute player Hanna Choi before she heads off to U of I. Her program features music by Cécile Chaminade, Jacques Ibert, William Grant Still, Eldin Burton, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. She’s joined by pianist Beilin Han in WFMT’s Fay & Daniel Levin Performance Studio.

Hanna Choi, 18, is a recent graduate of William Fremd High School. She has been playing the flute for seven years. Hanna has been participating and performing in competitions and auditions since 10 years old including first place at the Granquist Music Competition, plus the Walgreens Competition, ILMEA, Society of the American Musicians, Chicago Flute Club, and the DePaul Concerto Festival. Hanna was also in Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and a previous member of the Schaumburg Youth Orchestra.

Hanna currently studies flute with Hideko Amano and is set to study Flute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and photography.
