Pianist Alexander Malofeev won the International Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 13. Now 20 years old, the phenom made his delayed Ravinia debut earlier this summer with an all-Russian program including Rachmaninoff’s eight Études-Tableaux, works by Prokofiev and Medtner, as well as a number of encores for the dazzled audience.
