As the Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, baritone Thomas Hampson joined the Philharmonic in 2009 for an American New Year’s Eve celebration. In addition to songs by Aaron Copland and Cole Porter, then Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts George Gershwin’s An American in Paris and Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
