Mon, 3/20 — John Bruce Yeh

John Bruce Yeh joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1977 as bass clarinetist at the age of 19. Two years later, he was named assistant principal and E-flat clarinet. The longest-serving clarinetist in CSO history, he also served as acting principal from 2008 to 2011.

Wed, 3/22 — Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series: Meghan Bennett and Maria LyapkovaMeghan Bennett, flute and Maria Lyapkova, piano

Meghan Bennett is the Assistant Professor of Flute at California State University, Fresno. Passionate about collaborating with communities of color through classical music, Bennett traveled to Chile and Ghana in 2019 for residencies at Centro Cultural San Antonio and the Matic Music Club. Maria Lyapkova is an accomplished collaborative pianist who has performed with principals of leading orchestras.

Fri, 3/24 — Live from WFMT Encore: Galvin Cello Quartet

The Galvin Cello Quartet captured the silver medal at the 2021 Fischoff Competition. Cellists Sihao He, Sydney Lee, Haddon Kay, and Luiz Fernando Venturelli met as students at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music in the studio of acclaimed pedagogue Hans Jørgen Jensen. This spectacular ensemble performed on Live from WFMT on October 31, 2022.
