Their names are legendary: Adolph Herseth, Arnold Jacobs, Edward Kleinhammer, and more recently, Gene Pokorny, Jay Friedman, Michael Mulcahy, Daniel Gingrich, David Cooper, and Esteban Batallán. They are past and present members of the mighty CSO Brass. The section is such a distinctive feature of the orchestra’s sound that it has become an attraction unto its own.

Violinist Sirena Huang, Gold Medal winner of the 2022 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, has been celebrated for her impeccable technique and deeply expressive phrasing. Pianist Chih-Yi Chen has been on the faculty of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music since 2003 and has been part of the Chamber and Collaborative Music Department since its inaugural year, 2016-2017.

Founded in 2012, the Chicago Harp Quartet has established itself as the leading harp ensemble in the United States. The Quartet brings its signature mix of original transcriptions of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic repertoire and new works by the world’s leading composers. Today’s Live From WFMT encore is a performance from 2015 by the Chicago Harp Quartet.
