Today, we feature performers from Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, the Music Institute of Chicago, and Lake Zurich High School in works for different combinations of strings. We hear music of Mellits, Beethoven, Zupko, Giddens, Esmail, Prokofiev, Puccini and Haydn.
Members of the chamber groups have appeared on Introductions before:
– Pianist Samuel Kim performed alongside his brother, guitarist Joseph Kim, in a double recital in September 2023
– Cellist Jan Vargas Nedvetsky appeared as a soloist in recital in January 2021 and with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago in April 2023. He has appeared with chamber groups on Introductions in August 2020, in May 2021 and in August 2022; and was also part of WFMT’s 70th Anniversary Day of Celebration in December 2021.
