Newly announced CSO music director-designate Klaus Mäkelä returns to the podium to lead Gustav Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. The program includes Jean SibeliusThe Swan of Tuonela, and the U.S. premiere of Aino by Jimmy López Bellido, which the CSO’s co-commissioned. The opening of the broadcast is John Corigliano’s Tournaments Overture under Sir Georg Solti’s baton.
