In the early 1960’s, the Austrian songstress Martha Schlamme (1923 – 1985) visited Studs Terkel on WFMT. Joining her was her frequent collaborator, the guitarist, singer, and founding teacher of Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music, Frank Hamilton (1934 – ). In this vintage hour, the duo performed a variety of folk songs from around the world. Frank Hamilton was born August 3, 1934, and we send him our warmest and best wishes for a happy 90th birthday.
