On this episode of The New York Philharmonic This Week, we hear two of the seventeen recordings made by Giuseppe Sinopoli and the New York Philharmonic in the 1980s: Also sprach Zarathustra and Tod und Verklärung by Richard Strauss. Between those two works, we will hear Haydn’s Harmoniemesse as recorded by Leonard Bernstein in 1973.
