The young British baritone Huw Montague Rendall makes his debut as an exclusive Erato recording artist joined by the Rouen Opera Orchestra under its music director Ben Glassberg. The album demonstrates the multiple facets of Montague Rendall’s talent and his exceptional stylistic sensitivity. Huw Montague Rendall has already performed the roles Papageno (Magic Flute), Count Almaviva (Marriage of Figaro), Don Giovanni, and Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette) to acclaim; and will make a highly anticipated role debut and house debut as Billy Budd at the Wiener Staatsoper in October. Arias featured on the album come from these operas as well as ones which are expected to be added to his repertoire. Already a celebrated interpreter of song, Mahler lieder and orchestrated mélodie by Henri Duparc are included alongside a few lighter selections such as an operetta aria by Messager and the famous Papageno/Papagena duet with Canadian soprano Elisabeth Boudreault.
