Each weekday beginning at 2:00 pm, Candice makes work fly by with your favorite classical masterpieces. At 5:00 pm, jump off the hamster wheel with a commercial-free hour of best-loved classics, making the commute easy and breezy. Take a musical trip around the world with live concert recordings from musical festivals in the British Isles, Europe, and beyond. Fridays, enjoy an afternoon at the movies with music from the silver screen. And there are plenty of chances to win special prizes including tickets to theater, music, and dance events.
Candice joined WFMT in 2013, continuing a radio career that began with an internship at WNBC for Howard Stern and continued in Washington, DC (WETA) and New York City (WQXR, WNCN, et al.) She has been off-camera announcer for CBS News “Sunday Morning” since 1998. After studying theory and composition at Eastman School of Music, Candice received a degree in Russian from Barnard College. A Foundation for Iberian Music Contributing Scholar, her program The Spanish Hour has been distributed nationally since 2010 via PRX. At WFMT, Candice hosts weekdays from 2:00 to 7:00 pm, Baroque&Before on Wednesdays at 10:00 pm, and the Ryan Opera Center Recital Series at 7:00 pm on the first Sunday of every month.
