Studs Terkel was an ardent fan of J. S. Bach (1685 – 1750), the German composer and virtuoso of the Baroque period, Bach was born along with the arrival of Spring, on March 21, 1685. In 1980, Studs crafted this Terkelian tribute featuring performances by Andrés Segovia, Dame Myra Hess, Pete Seeger, Bidu Sayão, Pablo Casals, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and others.
