The 2025 Salzburg Festival saw the performances of many classic operas: among them, Handel’s Giulio Cesare. It is perhaps one of Handel’s most popular operas, interpreting the story of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra’s first meeting. Christophe Dumaux is Giulio Cesare and Olga Kulchynska Cleopatra: also in the cast are Lucile Rechardot, Federico Florio, and Yurly Mynenko. The choir in this performance is the Salzburg Bach Choir, directed by Michael Schneider. Emmanuelle Haïm leads Baroque ensemble Le Concert d’Astrée.
