Oboist Oliver Talukder brings a unique blend of cultural influences to the world of classical music. In May 2025, Oliver captured the top prize in Cedille Records’ Emerging Artist Competition, earning a recording contract and the opportunity to release his debut solo album on the internationally acclaimed label. This forthcoming project is more than a personal milestone — it’s a testament to his Mexican and Bengali heritage, and upbringing in Chicago. Oliver currently serves as the Second Oboist in the esteemed Opera Philadelphia Orchestra. He makes his Live from WFMT debut with this broadcast. (Pretaped)
