Based on the book by Michael Chabon, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay focuses on two cousins who invent an anti-fascist superhero to try and convince the United States to join the fight against Nazis. Composer Mason Bates provides an eclectic store combining acoustic and electronic elements in this new production that was also a Met Premiere. Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; the titular roles of Joe Kavalier and Sam Clay are played by Andrzej Filończyk and Miles Mykkanen.
